October 04, 2024 - Manila, Philippines. -  It is the story of  a King who became an inspiration of many in Tumarbong, Roxas, Philippines.  Tumarborng is a village with less than 5000.  And a city that lives on its farm and catches from the sea.

King Eric's inspiration reverberates throughout the small fishing village in the Philippines.  As a young boy, he was compassionate and kind-hearted, highly interested in spiritual growth and caring for others. These traits played a significant role as a leader and a saintly figure.

He was canonized Saint by the Catholic Church.  Eric was particularly devoted to the establishment of fair laws and the spread of Christianity, leaving an indelible impact on Swedish culture and history.

It is a community dream, united with one vision, magnified by a Saint from a distance that is equivalent to half of the globe.  They wanted to build a medical clinic in Tumarbong, Roxas, Palawan.

St. Erik Medical Center supports addressing the critical healthcare gap in a remote community of less than 5,000 people.   United by love to address the lack of basic healthcare, including emergency services and maternal care, leading to preventable health complications.

“Our goal is to raise $1.6 million (PHP 89.6 million) to build and equip the first medical clinic in Tumarbong. Immediate action is needed to prevent further health crises in the area,” said Roche Beran, VP of Marketing & Operations at St. Erik Medical Center.

Without a nearby medical facility, residents are forced to travel long distances for minor health issues, which leads to worsening conditions.

With no healthcare infrastructure, people face life-threatening risks every day. Many have no means to access timely medical care, and emergencies are often fatal due to the lack of medical facilities. We dream to have a clinic that will serve as a vital resource for the community, offering both preventive and life-saving healthcare, said one of the residents.
