Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg has had her second run-in with police in just a week, this time during a pro-Palestinian protest in Stockholm on Monday afternoon.

Thunberg was part of a group of demonstrators that set up tents inside Stockholm University’s library, demanding that the university end its ties with Israeli universities.

“Students put up tents at the library, to say that they have had enough of complicity of the genocide in Gaza,” Thunberg wrote in an Instagram post featuring a video of her and other protestors being removed by the police.

She also condemned the police’s actions, saying: “We will not accept the repression from Swedish police against students peacefully protesting against a genocide.”

Thunberg, an activist best known for her campaigning on climate change, was arrested in Copenhagen last week during a pro-Palestine demonstration.

According to Swedish media, the Stockholm police were alerted at 12:52 p.m. about the demonstrators, whose presence was seen as disruptive by the library staff who had requested that they protest outside.

At 2:15 p.m., the police began to carry out the demonstrators who had not left voluntarily.

According to the police spokesperson Mats Eriksson, the eviction took place calmly. “Nine people are suspected of disobedience to law enforcement. One person has been arrested when he refused to give his identity,” he said.

Thunberg has long been a critic of Israel’s actions in the Palestinian territories and has voiced her support for the Palestinian cause.

In October last year, the Israeli military criticized Thunberg after she voiced her support for Palestinians, following a Hamas attack that left around 1,200 people dead. In December, she then accused Israel of committing “war crimes” and “genocide” as the Gaza offensive escalated.

Israel’s military assault on Gaza has killed at least 40,000 people. The country has called legal accusations of genocide by South Africa “false, outrageous and morally repugnant.”
