Kate Middleton completes chemotherapy
The princess revealed earlier this year that she was being treated for cancer and had begun a course of “preventative chemotherapy.”
LONDON — Catherine, the princess of Wales, has completed her chemotherapy treatment and is focused on staying “cancer free,” she announced Monday.
The princess, who is married to heir to the throne Prince William, revealed earlier this year that she was being treated for cancer and had begun a course of “preventative chemotherapy.” Britain’s royal family didn’t disclose the precise nature of the cancer.
In a fresh statement released Monday, the princess of Wales said: “As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment.”
And she added: “Doing what I can to stay cancer free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.” She said she was “looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.”
Catherine’s revelation that she had cancer earlier this year came just weeks after news of King Charles III’s own cancer diagnosis.
